Six of the seven main municipalities heading to a decisive second round - Pristina and Mitrovica with very close competition

Following the conclusion of the first round of local elections held on October 12, 2025, of the seven largest municipalities in Kosovo, six of them will go to a runoff, as no candidate managed to secure over 50% of the valid votes.
The municipalities that will vote again in the second round of elections are:
Pristina between Përparim Rama of the LDK and Hajrulla Çeku of the LVV. From the counting of 98,88% of the votes by the CEC, Rama has received 33,76% or 34 thousand 752 votes, while Çeku has 33,05% or 34 thousand 022 votes.

The municipality of Prizren will also go to the runoff.
PDK's Shaqir Totaj will face off again with LVV's Artan Abrashi. With 94,92% of the votes counted by the CEC, Totaj has received 41,99% or 24,281 votes, while Abrashi has 29,80% or 17,231 votes.

The municipality of Peja will also have a runoff. Gazmend Muhaxheri of the LDK will face Taulant Kelmendi of the LVV in the second round.
From the counting of 100% of the votes by the CEC, Muhaxheri received 46,11% or 19 thousand 035 votes, while Kelmendi has 27,88% or 11 thousand 508 votes.

Mitrovica will also have a second round of elections. Arian Tahiri of PDK will face Faton Peci of LVV.
From the CEC's 100% vote count, Tahiri received 47,89% or 15,368 votes, while Peci received 47,80% or 15,340 votes. The difference in votes in this municipality is only 28.

Gjilan will also have a second round of elections since none of the candidates in this municipality received over 50% of the votes.
Alban Hyseni of LVV will face off again with Arbër Ismajli of LDK. From the CEC's 100% vote count, Hyseni has received 49,79% or 21,463 votes, while Ismajli has 34,24% or 14,761 votes.

The municipality of Gjakova will also have a second round of elections. Ardian Gjini of AAK will face Ardian Gola of LVV.
From the CEC's counting of 100% of the votes, Gjini received 47,74% or 18,893 votes, while Gola has 32,82% or 12,989 votes.

The only municipality that has completed the mayoral election in the first round is Ferizaj. According to 95,45% of the votes counted in this municipality, Agim Aliu of PDK has received 56,74% or 27,720 votes.
It should be noted that these results do not include votes from the diaspora, which could overturn the result in some municipalities.
Citizens of these municipalities will once again have the opportunity to decide on their local leaders, through the vote they will cast on November 9. /Telegraph/
