"Shut up", Atletico Madrid president harshly criticizes Real Madrid star

Enrique Cerezo, the president of Atletico Madrid, had led the delegation of club directors at lunch they had with Barcelona representatives before Sunday's match. 

On Sunday evening, Barcelona managed to win 4-2 away to Atletico Madrid, coming back from a 2-0 deficit. 

The Atletico boss had criticised the VAR decision to overturn Julian Alvarez's penalty against Real Madrid. 

He also had some strong words for Thibaut Courtois, despite having spoken well of the Belgian goalkeeper in the past, even after some comments that showed his lack of respect for his former club.

After the Champions League derbye, Courtois had attacked Atletico and Simeone, who complained about a miscarriage of justice. 

"I'm tired of this constant victimization, complaining about things like this. In the end, referees don't favor any team, whether in Spain or Europe," Courtois said. 

Cerezo, who is usually known for his diplomatic approach, gave an unexpected response when asked about Courtois' comment. 

"He just needs to keep his mouth shut and stay calm. He needs to be grateful for the time he had at Atletico." 

"He is a great goalkeeper, but he needs to act in the same way he did when he was part of us, like a gentleman," Cerezo said.Telegraph/
