A pit bull attacked a small child in the Union Square area of Manhattan, causing panic among passersby.
The incident occurred around 11:10 near a bank, where several citizens intervened to help the family and remove the dog.
In the footage shared on social media, the child's mother can be heard calling for help and begging for an ambulance to be called.
After the intervention of passersby, the child was rushed to the hospital, where he was treated for leg wounds and is in stable condition.
Police said the dog's owner does not face criminal charges.
The child's family has stated that they will pursue legal action to consider the dog dangerous to the public. /Telegraph/
