Shearer reveals the two players Amorim doesn't count on: He doesn't value them

Former England striker Alan Shearer has suggested that Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim does not see Rasmus Hojlund or Joshua Zirkzee as part of his long-term plans at Old Trafford.

Shearer pointed to Amorimi's recent tactical decisions, particularly his choice to deploy Kobbie Mainoo as a false striker against Crystal Palace, as a sign that the Portuguese coach may not fully trust his forwards.

"Amorim chose Mainoo in the false nine position against Crystal Palace at the weekend and I think Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee will feel very comfortable," Shearer explained.

"They will think about whether or not they belong at the football club when you have a new coach who plays a midfielder as a false nine in front of the centre-forwards."

Shearer believes Amorim does not value the two strikers and their future at Old Trafford looks uncertain.

"It's clear he doesn't value them because he needs results, which he's not getting, and yet he's not even playing up front," Shearer added. /Telegraph/
