The holiday season has begun, and many people are heading to beauty salons to look their best.

However, one woman has shared an important warning for anyone planning to get their eyebrows waxed, after she experienced painful burns around her eyebrows instead of getting a beautiful look.

Samantha Martina from the United Kingdom shared her experience on social media. Although she had previously had waxing without any problems, this time the result went wrong. After the treatment, Samantha developed painful, red, and purple burns around both eyebrows.

In the video posted on TikTok, she explained that "this is exactly what the healing process looks like... it's turning purple and red and likely forming a crust, which I don't want around Christmas and traveling, but I learned a lesson."

The cause of these burns was the use of tretinoin, an ingredient she used in her skincare routine that made her skin extremely sensitive, causing burns when the wax was removed.

Samantha said that most beauticians advise clients to avoid active ingredients before waxing, but she didn't know this and admitted that she too could have revealed that she was using tretinoin.

Her video has gone viral and has amassed over 488,000 views, while many commenters have wished her a speedy recovery and thanked her for sharing her experience as a warning to others. /Telegraph/
