The State Police has issued an official announcement regarding the accident that occurred overnight on the "Thumanë-Kashar" road axis.
Police confirm that the 48-year-old man with the initials IL, the driver of one of the vehicles, died in the accident.
The driver of the other vehicle, 22-year-old II, has been arrested in connection with the incident, while investigations continue to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident, Euronews Albania reports.

"The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Krujë Police Commissariat arrested citizen II, 22 years old, after on 18.02.2026, at around 01:20, on the "Thumanë-Kashar" highway, the vehicle he was driving collided with the vehicle driven by citizen IL, 48 years old, and as a result the 48-year-old lost his life," the police announced.
