Kuçi: Serbian BIA could undermine the electoral process

The Serbian secret service, BIA, with the aim of smearing the opposition political opponents of the Serbian List in the February 9 elections, is using artificial intelligence to fabricate disinformation against them.

This was said by Gurakuç Kuçi from the "Octopus" institute, who says that Sunday's election process will be peaceful in terms of security, but not in a democratic sense.

Even the Institute for Hybrid Warfare Studies "Octopus" believes that the Serbian BIA could undermine tomorrow's election process with other actions such as vote buying, intimidating the Serbian opposition, and bringing Serbs out of Serbia.

Kuçi tells KosovaPress that through the use of the term "traitor", Serbian citizens in Kosovo are being threatened and the electoral process is being undermined.

"Artificial intelligence is being used to undermine the integrity of the opposition, where the Serbian opposition, through artificial intelligence that the Serbian BIA is using, is creating documents, videos, photographs and various stories about the opposition to lynch them as much as possible, and by lynch them in this way, they instill hatred among Serbs to vote for the Serbian List."

"Then, the Serbian List and Serbia have introduced the term traitor, meaning that anyone who does not vote for the Serbian List is a traitor to the Serbian nation, a traitor to the state of Serbia, and in this way they are undermining the electoral process," Kuçi said.

According to him, since September of last year, Serbia and the Serbian List have been preparing to infiltrate the February 9 election process with the aim of manipulating the vote of Serbs in Kosovo.

Intimidation, blackmail of the Serbian opposition, and vote buying are some of the actions that Serbia is using to interfere in the parliamentary elections in Kosovo.

"Their interference in the elections in Kosovo is happening through workers who serve in health services and those who serve in education because they are still paid by Serbian funds and controlled by Serbian institutions, they are blackmailing them into voting for the Serbian List. Then they are threatening and intimidating the opposition in Kosovo.

"There have been several cases, the case in Gracanica, the Serb Party in Gracanica was attacked there and several other incidents against the opposition in the north of the country and this is how vote buying is happening. Citizens have been identified who do not need social assistance, but are going and giving their data and getting the money needed to vote for the Serbian List, 20 thousand dinars or 170 euros, is a type of classic vote manipulation, otherwise called the Bulgarian train," he stressed.

Kuçi from Octopus warns of the arrival of Serbs from Serbia to vote in Kosovo.

"Another undermining that can be expected on election day is that the process could be undermined by bringing Serbs from Serbia to vote in Kosovo and thus disrupting the real lead of the vote," says Kuçi.

February 9, according to Kuçi, will be a quiet day in terms of security, but not a democratic one, especially for Serbs.

"Kosovo's security organs are closely monitoring and are not allowing room for action for the Serbian BIA and the Serbian security organs to act against Kosovo. However, they are not going to try to take certain actions, but their actions are limited... considering the strength of the security institutions as well as the attention of the European Union recently with the sending of 100 people, then I believe that it will continue to be a calm day, but still not calm in the democratic sense, but calm in the sense of security. When I say not calm in the democratic sense because there will be manipulation, vote buying, vote manipulation and in this way it cannot be considered democratic calm", he said.

And tomorrow, when the citizens of Kosovo are expected to head to the ballot boxes to vote, there are no expected classic incidents.

"We cannot expect there to be any classic incidents like this where some kind of explosion, a bomb or something like that could happen. It is very difficult for security institutions, especially the perimeter around polling stations, to have a high level of security," he says.

The citizens of Kosovo will vote on Sunday, February 9, for the new composition of the Kosovo Assembly, as well as the new government. /KP/
