The chairman of the League of Historians of Kosovo "Ali Hadri", branch in Deçan, Shkodran Imeraj, has published a rare document - the arrest warrant issued by Serbian authorities against the former leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Hashim Thaçi, in 1999.
In the document issued by the Serbian state, Thaçi was described as a "terrorist" and as the "political leader of a terrorist organization," referring to the KLA.
The order included accusations against Thaçi for "attacking members of the Serbian police" in the Drenas area, during the war in Kosovo.
The order also stated that Thaçi is armed and "ready to use firearms" in the event of arrest, presenting him as a person of high risk to Serbian security forces.
The publication of this historical document comes at a time when Thaçi is facing indictment for war crimes at the Specialist Chambers in The Hague.
The 1999 arrest warrant shows the Serbian regime's approach to the KLA and its efforts to criminalize Albanian resistance structures during the liberation war. /Telegraph/
