Slovak chief diplomat Miroslav Lajcak is expected to be appointed to the position of Special Representative of the European Union for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, by the new head of European diplomacy, Josep Borell.

This is what the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Petrit Selimi, announced through a post on Twitter.

"I have heard from three different sources that Josep Borrell is seriously considering appointing Miroslav Lajcak as an emissary for the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. Minister Lajcak is likable, but I do not think that a special envoy should come from a non-recognizing state," Selimi wrote on his Twitter profile, Telegrafi writes.

Until now, the United States of America has appointed a Special Representative for the dialogue. The State Department has appointed Matthew Palmer, while President Donald Trump has chosen Ambassador Richard Grenell, in the position of emissary for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

All the parties that are interested in the continuation of the dialogue, France, Germany, the USA and the European Union, are waiting for the creation of new institutions in Kosovo, in order to start efforts to return the parties to the table. /Telegraph/
