A joint operation between the State Police and Greek authorities resulted in the discovery and seizure of a significant arsenal of firearms and combat ammunition.

During searches in the homes of several Albanian citizens suspected of contract killings, three automatic weapons, hundreds of cartridges and rifle magazines were found. The weapons and ammunition were hidden in the home of one of the arrested in Greece, who is suspected of involvement in criminal activities and was arrested two days ago on charges of murder and participation in a criminal group that possessed firearms.

The police operation, codenamed "Provat", took place in several Albanian cities, including Gjirokastra, Vlora and Lezha, following the exchange of information with Greek authorities regarding the capture of several Albanian citizens.

In Labovë e Kryqit, the Gjirokastra Police found weapons and ammunition hidden in the apartment of citizen Dh. M., 45 years old. In addition to the Kalashnikov and another automatic weapon, the search revealed hundreds of cartridges of various calibers, suspected of being trafficked.

The seized weapons will be sent to the Scientific Police Institute for technical expertise, while investigations into the suspects continue in close cooperation with Greek counterparts.

M., 45 years old from Labova e Kryqit; AB, 32 years old from Kudhësi, Himarë; FP, 39 years old from Lezha; and P. Th., 31 years old from Muzina, Sarandë.
