The High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina suspended the budgetary funds of the political parties of the Republika Srpska

The High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christian Schmidt, today stopped all budgetary funds for financing the political parties SNSD and "Ujedinjena Srpska", which were intended for all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As he stated, the funds will be frozen and transferred to a special account at the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"This decision supports the efforts of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina to confront the attacks of the ruling coalition from Republika Srpska against the fundamental principles and constitutional order of BiH. The leadership of "Ujedinjena Srpska" and SNSD are at the forefront of these actions. Those actions are contrary to the respect for the Dayton Agreement," he said.

The German diplomat added that the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina are indisputable, writes klix.ba.

“Both entities and Brcko have rights that are guaranteed by the Dayton Agreement. But these rights require respect for Dayton and democracy. The leadership of the SNSD and “Ujedinjena Srpska” are inciting the institutions of the Republika Srpska and its citizens to commit criminal acts, threatening them with punishment if they do not obey. The citizens of RS have the right to decide for themselves. They are being threatened with criminal prosecution if they do not comply with the pressures,” he added.

As he further said, "in Bosnia and Herzegovina we don't need castles, and those who think we need them are not working for the future of this country."

"According to the Criminal Code, any failure to comply with this decision that I have taken today is subject to criminal liability. This decision comes into force immediately. When these parties show respect for the Dayton Agreement, I will reconsider this decision. Actions against Dayton have their consequences. Respect for the Dayton Agreement is not a matter of choice. In the afternoon I will go to Camp Butmir where I will meet with the EUFOR commander," he said. /Telegraph/
