Samsung Electronics today announced that seven models in its Neo QLED and QLED 2024 line are the first in the industry to receive True Cinema Black and HDR Brightness Accuracy certifications from the Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker (VDE), a leading German electrical engineering certification institute.

Six of Samsung's 8 Neo QLED 4K and 2024K models, as well as one QLED 4K model, receive the industry's first certification for HDR lighting accuracy. Certification is based on strict assessments of blackness levels in the area letterbox of the screen, ensuring these areas remain deep and immersive when viewing official footage from the Cinematographers Association of America (ASC) — according to the guidelines of the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA®).
