Sahatçiu inaugurates school '42' in Tirana, after failure in Pristina – Macron and Rama were at the inauguration

The former deputy mayor of Pristina, Donjeta Sahatçiu, has announced that she has inaugurated the first higher coding school with non-traditional teaching in the region in Tirana.

She wrote that she had intended for this school to open in Pristina, but that the project had been unfairly put on hold, Telegrafi reports.

“Life has a way of bringing to an end journeys that remain half-finished… In Pristina, one of the most significant chapters of the two-year journey in governance has been the wholehearted commitment to enabling the opening of School 42 in Pristina – a project that, although unfairly stalled after two years of work, has always been a vision that I have always wanted to see realized. An effort that started with faith – in the power of education, in technology as an opportunity, and in what 42 can give to our youth,” she wrote.

Furthermore, she wrote about the journey towards opening the school in Tirana.

“A year later, an unexpected twist of fate brought me to Tirana – to a time and place that today, more than a coincidence, seems like a continuation to me. With mixed emotions and a great sense of responsibility, I took on the task of building and leading 42 Tirana – the first high school of coding with non-traditional learning in the region. A continuation of a mission I started long ago – in a new context, in my new home, but still for Albanians”, she emphasized.

Among other things, she stated that "Last night I had the honor of welcoming and accompanying President Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister Edi Rama and the founder of 42 in Paris, Xavier Niel, at the inauguration of the new campus. Together with the first students, the team, collaborators and friends, we shared a night that is not easily forgotten. A mission that was achieved."

“Tirana became part of the global family of 42 – 55 campuses around the world that challenge the traditional way of learning. Here, in the heart of the city, in the iconic Pyramid. Thanks to the support of the Albanian-American Development Foundation (AADF), the Municipality of Tirana and the Pyramid Center, this school is now a reality.

In just three months, over 2,000 registrations for the first 150 students starting in October. A start that speaks volumes about the need for educational transformation and gives hope for new opportunities.

In Pristina, I ended every meeting with the 42nd team with "Let's do this!" - now I say it with a full heart: "We did it!" in Tirana, and with an unquenchable desire - to see this vision alive in Pristina as well." /Telegrafi/
