Russian forces have violated the ceasefire over 2000 times since the beginning of the day – Zelensky says

Since the beginning of the day, the Russian army has violated the ceasefire announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin over 2000 times.

This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Facebook, citing a report received from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, foreign media write, according to Telegraph.

As of 20:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, Russian forces had attacked Ukrainian positions 67 times across various sectors of the front line, with the highest concentration of attacks in the Pokrovsk sector.

In addition, Russian troops launched 1355 shelling attacks, 713 of which involved the use of heavy weaponry. FPV drones were deployed 673 times.

"In practice, on all major frontline directions, Russia has failed to keep its promise of a ceasefire. And almost a whole day was not enough for Russia to respond to our Ukrainian proposal for a full ceasefire – starting now, from Easter, and lasting 30 days," Zelensky said.

At the same time, the Ukrainian head of state noted that there were no airstrike alerts today.

"Therefore, this is a ceasefire format that has been reached and is easier to extend. Ukraine proposes to cease all attacks using drones and long-range missiles on civilian infrastructure for a period of at least 30 days, with the possibility of extension. If Russia does not agree to such a step, this will be proof that it intends to continue destroying human lives and prolonging this war."

Recall that on Saturday, April 19, Putin declared a ceasefire in the war against Ukraine for Easter. /Telegraph/
