Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has heaped praise on Joao Pedro, placing the striker in the same category as Erling Haaland, Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe.

Joao Pedro recently scored his first Premier League hat-trick, giving Chelsea a huge 4-1 victory over Aston Villa.

In total, he has appeared in 38 games for the Blues in all competitions, scoring 17 goals and providing 6 assists, and this has led coach Rosenior to compare him to great strikers.

"Joao is in that category now. In the two months I've been here, he has consistently shown that he is a world-class striker," Rosenior initially said.

"I speak for my players; it's disrespectful to Erling to compare them. I don't know Erling very well, but from the outside he looks like a great striker, world-class."

"I wouldn't trade Joao for anyone at this moment - he's showing all the qualities and attributes I want to see."

"The good thing about Joao is his age - he can still improve, and I have noticed some areas where he can improve. But the level he is operating at now is world class, and it is my job, the club's job and his job to keep him there," the Blues coach concluded. /Telegraph/
