Ronaldo receives shocking offer from Brazil – there's a reason they want him

Brazilian club Portuguesa boss Alex Bourgeois has claimed he will try to convince Cristiano Ronaldo to join them.

Portuguesa, which competes in the second division of Brazilian football, is planning some ambitious moves to lure some of the world's biggest names to join their project.

After trying to sign Radamel Falcao and Nani, the Brazilian team is now ready to open talks with Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo.

"Reinforcements and saving the pride of the Portuguese community here in Brazil, yes, that's exactly (the Nani transfer attempt). We will try for 2026, to bring in a great Portuguese."

"He's the best Portuguese player of all time, he's the biggest personality in the world today. It would be great, but can you imagine how many people don't offer anything about Portugal for Cristiano Ronaldo, right?"

"But it's clear, he's a great Portuguese and of course, at some point, we'll try to talk."

"What we need, which is part of our strategic plan, is to create a bridge between Brazil and Portugal through Portuguesa, for Portuguesa to be this channel."

"We are already thinking about making progress in this direction. We believe this will bring a community of 25 million people closer to us."

"There are many things in Portugal, apart from Portuguese football, that Brazilians go there for, whether it's the wine, the food, the religion, the beaches. So, what we want is to bring all of this to one place in Brazil to create this bridge," Bourgeois said.Telegraph/
