Rodrygo comes out with an official reaction about his future

Real Madrid superstar Rodrygo Goes has promised a swift return to action after missing three games for Los Blancos. The Brazilian is also at the centre of much speculation over his future.

Rodrygo missed Los Blancos' penultimate match against Celta Vigo due to a fever, and was again sidelined for El Clasico. This despite Carlo Ancelotti declaring him fit just 24 hours earlier, again claiming he was unwell. On Tuesday, Rodrygo then limped out of training with a muscle injury and will miss their match against RCD Mallorca.

Youngster Victor Munoz ended up replacing Vinicius Junior during El Clasico, with Rodrygo not even warming up on Sunday. There had been some media reports that Rodrygo had told Ancelotti that he didn't feel mentally in the right place to play against Barcelona.

On Tuesday, Ancelotti again defended his star striker, claiming he was frustrated, but simply because of his physical problems and inability to find his best form. On Wednesday, Rodrygo took to social media to deny the rumours.

"Thanks for all the messages and concern. I'll be back soon. Stop making things up," he wrote on X, accompanied by a photo of his feet.

He may have also been referring to talks about his future. The latest news to emerge from the Spanish capital is that Rodrygo is considering a move away from Real Madrid and Los Blancos are happy to consider a move for the 24-year-old.

The final turning point is likely to be Xabi Alonso, who will need to discuss his role with Rodrygo and where he sees him fitting into his new Real Madrid squad.

Recent years have seen Rodrygo move to the right wing in order to accommodate first Vinicius Junior and then Kylian Mbappe, with a clear difference in performance. /Telegraph/
