Robin Williams' daughter Zelda pleads with public to stop sending 'disgusting' videos of her late father

Zelda Williams, the daughter of renowned director and actor Robin Williams, has harshly criticized fans who sent her AI-generated videos that imitate her late father.
In an angry Instagram Story post on Monday, Zelda wrote: "Enough, stop believing I want to see this."
She made it clear that no one should send such videos of her father anymore: "If you're just trying to provoke me, I've seen much worse, I'll limit them and move on. But please, if you have any dignity, stop this, for him, for me, for everyone, end it."

Zelda called this practice foolish and a waste of time and energy, emphasizing that it is not what her father would have wanted.
She added that the legacy of real people is being damaged by "TikTok's terrible maneuvers," criticizing the use of AI to create content that distorts people's lives and the history of art and music.

“Those who use AI are not making art, they are creating disgusting and over-processed things from people's lives and artistic history, and then imposing them on others,” she wrote.
Zelda also rejected the idea that AI is inevitable, emphasizing that algorithms are always based on human creativity: "AI does nothing but recycle and remake the past to be consumed again. You are consuming a 'Human Centipede' of content, while those who created it laugh and consume endlessly," she added.

Robin Williams, the beloved comedic actor, died by suicide in 2014. He was married to producer Marsha Garces Williams from 1989 to 2010 and they had three children, including Zelda.
This isn't the first time Zelda has reacted to AI impersonations of her father. In 2023, she criticized the use of AI-generated voice-overs based on Robin Williams, noting that he couldn't have given his consent. /Telegraph/
