Former Kosovo Liberation Army member Rexhep Selimi turned 54 today. He has been held in pre-trial detention in The Hague since 2020.
Selim was visited by his wife, Shqipe Mehmeti Selimi, and the coordinator of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Dejona Mihali, reports Telegrafi.
Mihali published photos from his visit to The Hague, where he wrote that Selimi is a true liberator.
"Today we wish our comrade Rexhep Selimi a happy 54th birthday. Let's hope as soon as possible to resume the activity where it was unjustly interrupted. Rare are those who have historically known how to defend without fuss, without boasting, without seeking rewards, without glorifications and without excesses the participation and leadership in the great wars of the peoples to which they belong," he wrote.
He further added, "Rexhep Selimi is undoubtedly the most brilliant of them. A true liberator."
