At today's meeting of the Central Election Commission, a request was made to postpone item 3.1 of the agenda, which relates to the review of options and deadlines for postal voting for the Early Elections of December 28, 2025. This request sparked a debate among representatives of political parties at the CEC.

LVV leadership member Alban Krasniqi warned that any postponement of the decision could seriously jeopardize the diaspora voting process.
According to him, the current deadlines are already very tight and any additional delay "implies a failure of the process."

"We are on the verge of a process that could hinder the diaspora's right to vote. The deadlines presented jeopardize the delivery of envelopes and the entire procedure. Today is December 6 and the staff is working over 12 hours. Any delay jeopardizes the diaspora's voting," said Krasniqi.

On the other hand, member Muharrem Nitaj recalled that there is an alternative option – sending ballots through the electronic platform – adding that it cannot be predicted in advance whether the mail will fail or not.
"We can't prejudge. If the mail fails, then we have to go back and decide. I don't want to vote by package without knowing the effects," he said.

LDK representative, Sami Hamiti, said that technical and legal guarantees have not yet been provided for the functioning of sending ballots through the electronic platform, requesting further clarifications.

Meanwhile, PDK representative Ilir Gashi emphasized that the "easiest path" should not be chosen to the detriment of the integrity of the electoral process.
He warned that any alternative procedure must guarantee complete security for the results of diaspora voting.
