"Truly the worst," Trump demands removal of his presidential portrait

Donald Trump has called for his portrait to be removed as it is "truly the worst".

The US president claimed that the portrait of British artist Sarah Boardman, which currently hangs in the Colorado State Capitol, was "intentionally distorted".

Posting on Truth Social, he said: “Nobody likes a bad photo or painting of themselves, but the one in Colorado, at the State Capitol, placed by the Governor, along with all the other presidents, was intentionally distorted to a level that even I have probably never seen before.”

He said the portrait of former US President Barack Obama, by the same artist, was "wonderful", but his portrait "was really the worst", he wrote. sky news, the Telegraph reports.

Referring to the artist, whose collection of official portraits also includes one of former President George W. Bush, Trump said that "she must have lost her talent as she grew up."

He then added: “In any case, I would much rather not have a portrait than have this one.”

It is known that Boardman's portrait of Trump has been hanging in the State Capitol since 2019.

It is unclear what prompted the US president's complaint.

Otherwise, when the portrait was revealed in 2019, Boardman posted photos online and said it was a "great day."

She wrote: "Please show respect - this is about portraiture, not politics." /Telegraph/
