Real Madrid star misses remainder of season, including Club World Cup

French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has been diagnosed with a complete rupture of the tendon in his left thigh. The injury has ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Camavinga was not part of the starting line-up against Getafe last night, but came on as a substitute after half-time, replacing David Alaba, who himself was feeling unwell.

However, although the French midfielder finished the match, he had suffered an injury, which was confirmed by Los Blancos' official website.

"Following tests carried out today on Eduardo Camavinga by Real Madrid's Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a complete rupture of the tendon in his left thigh muscle. His recovery will be assessed," the statement reads.

According to Spanish media, this injury rules out Camavinga for the rest of the season, while journalist Fabrizio Romano says the Frenchman is also expected to miss the Club World Cup. /Telegraph/
