A Real Madrid player has been informed that he could leave the club at the end of the season, according to reports.

Real are currently planning their first full transfer window with Álvaro Arbeloa as coach, after replacing Xabi Alonso in January.

How this transfer window will look remains to be seen, as the club had carried out most of their major operations in time for the Club World Cup in June last year.

Transfers reports that Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is feeling "frustrated" due to left-back Ferland Mendy's frequent absences, due to various physical problems.

The report states that, although Real have no doubts about Mendy's abilities as a "reliable defender" when he is at full fitness, his recurring physical problems have meant the club have had to constantly look for other alternatives and are now ready for him to leave altogether.

The France international, who has not played for his national team since 2024, has made just two appearances in La Liga this season due to his injury problems.

Transfers adds that Real are willing to consider offers for Mendy before signing a new left-back.

Real have effectively signed Mendy's long-term replacement, with Alvaro Carreras arriving from Benfica after his €50m release clause was activated last summer.

The Spain international had come through Real's youth academy before leaving to sign a four-year contract with Manchester United in 2020.Telegrafi/
