Official: Real Madrid waste no time, appoint Alvaro Arbeloa as first coach

Real Madrid announces that Alvaro Arbeloa has been appointed as the new first team coach, following the departure of Xabi Alonso.
Alvaro Arbeloa has built his entire career as a coach within the Real Madrid youth academy since 2020. He led the Infantil A (2020-2021), Cadete A (2021-2022) and Juvenil A (2022-2025) teams, where he achieved extraordinary successes.
In the 2022-2023 season, he led Juvenil A to the treble (League, Copa del Rey and Champions League) and then won the League title in the 2024-2025 season. Last June, he became coach of Castilla, continuing his consolidation as a youth strategist.

As a player, Arbeloa is a Real Madrid legend, with 238 official appearances between 2009 and 2016.
He won eight major trophies: two Champions Leagues, a Club World Cup, a UEFA Super Cup, a La Liga title, two Copa del Reys and a Spanish Super Cup.
Even in the national team, Arbeloa was part of Spain's historic era, winning the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and two European Championships (2008 and 2012), with 56 appearances in total.
