Rangers fans banned for life for banner displayed at Fenerbahce match
Fans of Scottish club Glasgow Rangers are facing a lifetime ban from attending matches after they unfurled a banner reading "Keep smart ideology out of Europe."
During the Europa League match between Glasgow Rangers and Fenerbahce, played on 19 March 2025, a small group of Rangers fans displayed the above-mentioned banner. ,
UEFA fined the club 30,000 euros for the incident and threatened to close the Copland stand if similar incidents occurred again.
The club strongly condemned the fans' actions, calling them "disgraceful" and "unacceptable." In an official statement, Rangers expressed pride in its diverse team and staff, stressing that such behavior has no place in sport or society.
