Ramaswamy leaves DOGE, which will be led by Musk

Vivek Ramaswamy has announced his departure from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the US, an initiative created during the Donald Trump administration, where he would serve under billionaire Elon Musk.

According to reports washingtonpostRamaswamy has decided not to be part of the Trump administration, as he wants to run for governor of Ohio. This decision was made public a few hours after Trump took office as president in the White House.

“Vivek Ramaswamy played a key role in creating the Department of Government Efficiency. He now intends to run for elected office, which requires his departure from DOGE, consistent with the structure announced today. We thank him for his contributions over the past two months and look forward to him playing a significant role in the effort to Make America Great Again,” spokeswoman Anna Kelly said.

The Department of Government Efficiency was created by the new US president with the aim of reducing government bureaucracy and eliminating unnecessary regulations. Trump had also called for reducing wasteful spending and restructuring federal agencies.

The new American leader described this department as an initiative that would realize long-standing dreams of Republicans, by providing "advice and guidance from outside the government."

Meanwhile, Elon Musk's role in DOGE will be informal, allowing him to continue running Tesla, SpaceX, and the social network X. /Telegraph/
