Rama warns of the closure of public television

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has expressed his dissatisfaction with the way the Albanian Public Radio Television (RTSH) is being managed.
Rama made the comments in the closing speech of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group meeting, where he said that RTSH will no longer benefit from any more lek from Albanian taxes.
The head of government also said that every option will be considered for RTSH, from reform, privatization to the closure of this media outlet.
"We have tried to create the conditions for RTSH to be reformed and we have failed with the most complete success. Who knows what the new director will do, but so far the balance of RTSH is a successful failure, from debt to debt and from disregard for the public to disregard. We do not have public television today in Albania, we have a channel there, but the last time I saw it was in 1990. Since then I have not watched public television, I have been invited but I have not seen myself and these are the only interviews after which I do not receive any messages.
"We are not going to give a single lek from Albanian taxes until it is deserved. Every option should be on the table, including final closure, privatization, partnership, and everything else besides this. I do not participate in this, just as I do not participate in any attempt to regulate the media," Rama said, among other things./A2 CNN
