Prime Minister Edi Rama has set a clear objective for mayors, the realization of 1 investments across the country through the Mountain Package, otherwise they will not be able to run for re-election.

The statement came during a meeting with mayors, a day after the meeting with the Socialist Party parliamentary group, where Rama also announced constitutional changes within this mandate.

"You can't just sit and wait from the state budget, you have to move on to another phase, especially some municipalities that have all the possibilities," Rama said, emphasizing that the first phase of the Mountain Package has not yet been completed in some municipalities, despite the high interest from Albanians abroad, writes A2 CNN.

He added, "the ambition is 1 investments from this package. There will be no re-nomination if the target of this project is not achieved."

Rama emphasized that even the most modest investments, of 50 thousand euros, have a major impact on the local economy and should be treated with maximum seriousness.

The Prime Minister also asked the National Planning Agency to be available to municipalities for maps and Minister Demo to set targets for each municipality. He also announced the creation of a new agency to increase the quality of planning and design, as well as to ensure a faster channel of interaction between the government and municipalities.
