Rama accuses the government of stopping work on "George Bush" Square: Half of the asphalt is cultural heritage, half is not

The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, reacted on Tuesday after the repeated interruption of works on "George Bush" Square, accusing the Government of unreasonable interference and political obstruction of projects in the capital.

According to Rama, the intervention was carried out under pressure from the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, while the police were also involved in the incident.

He said that the interruption was justified by the claim that part of the road is considered cultural heritage, while the rest is not.

"Half of the asphalt is cultural heritage, the other half of the asphalt is not! With this justification, they sent them today - to stop the works on 'George Bush' Square," Rama wrote in a public reaction.

He added that institutions are acting without legal basis and are obstructing the works for political reasons.

"This outgoing government is using all instances illegally because they have no documents or legal basis and they are cutting it off," he said.

The Mayor of Pristina emphasized that they will continue with the implementation of the project and warned of criminal charges against all those who, according to him, are hindering the development of the capital. /Telegraph/
