Rama: The government is blocking the Pristina budget, citizens are being penalized

The Mayor of Pristina, Përparim Rama, has said that the citizens of the capital are being unfairly penalized due to the budget freeze by the new Kosovo Government. He stressed that this action is not a “technical delay” or an “administrative misunderstanding”, but a “political decision to weaken Pristina”.
Rama underlined that "The Capital City Budget was voted according to the law. It is an official document of the Republic of Kosovo. Any intervention to bypass or sabotage it is a direct violation of the institutional order."
He emphasized the consequences for citizens: "when the Pristina budget is stopped, the construction of schools is stopped, the improvement of infrastructure is stopped, investment in kindergartens is stopped, economic development is stopped. This is not a war against the Mayor. This is collective punishment against citizens."
Rama has made it clear that Pristina is not the property of any party and has warned of legal action if the blockade continues: "If the Government continues with this approach, we will pursue every legal and institutional path to protect our rights. We will do this publicly, openly and without compromise."
"Pristina will not be silent. Pristina will not be afraid. And Pristina will not stop," Rama stressed.
