The Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) Workers' Union has announced that it has sent official letters to several of the highest European institutions, including Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and Viola von Cramon, Rapporteur for Kosovo in the European Parliament.

In these communications, the union has presented the dire financial situation at RTK, where employees have still not received their salaries, even though the institution is approaching December. According to the union, this is a highly concerning development that constitutes a violation of human and labor rights, putting the economic well-being of hundreds of families at risk.

"Salary is a fundamental right, guaranteed by local laws and European standards," the union stressed, demanding urgent measures from Kosovo institutions to resolve the crisis.

As part of the workers' reaction and mobilization, the RTK Workers' Union has announced that on Monday, from 11:00, in the RTK yard, a one-hour strike will be held, where all employees are invited to suspend work as a symbolic and determined act to seek solutions.

The union has announced that the current situation is unacceptable and that they are ready to take all necessary legal and union measures to ensure regular payments and the sustainable functioning of the public media service.

Finally, they call on institutions to react immediately and not allow the crisis to deepen further, jeopardizing the continuation of RTK's public mission. /kp/
