RCC Barometer: 64 percent of Western Balkan citizens support EU integration

The Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) has today launched the Western Balkans Barometer, highlighting that 64 percent of the region's citizens support integration into the European Union, which is an increase of 10% over last year.
Western Balkans Barometer was published today in Brussels, while Telegrafi journalist Jehona Hulaj reports that according to the barometer, 64 percent of people in the region are convinced that regional cooperation will improve the economic situation.
The data shows that 26% of Western Balkan citizens are optimistic about EU membership by 2030, while 25% expect this to happen by 2035.

Meanwhile, 17% of Western Balkan citizens believe they will never join the EU.
Furthermore, 37% of people in the Western Balkans say that nationalist politics most hinder regional cooperation.

Regarding this, Amer Kepatnović, from the Regional Cooperation Council, says that the 'Balkan Barometer' is a way of listening to the people of the region.
"What you will see today in some segments should be worrying for everyone," he said.
Furthermore, in this Barometer for the Western Balkans, among the main concerns are: price increases, corruption, the political situation and unemployment. /Telegraph/
