"The parties have their own negotiation strategies, but without a doubt the Prime Minister of Kosovo will be Mr. Bedri Hamza," said Qalaj.
He emphasized that in addition to the support that Hamza enjoys from citizens, he is also respected by colleagues from other parties in the Kosovo Assembly.
"I am convinced and believe in the personality of Bedri Hamza, in the popular support he has had and in the respect he has from all colleagues, including other parties in the Parliament of Kosovo," he added.
According to Qalaj, the lack of a political breakthrough is directly related to the fear of the resigned Prime Minister Albin Kurti that he would lose his position.
"The reason why we don't have an unblocking is precisely Mr. Kurti's fear that he won't have the numbers and that Bedri Hamza will become prime minister," Qalaj added.
He listed several reasons why they are not voting for the candidate proposed for the position of speaker of the parliament by the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albulena Haxhiu.
He highlighted Haxhiu's behavior during the period when she was in opposition, which, according to him, was very aggressive and used inappropriate language towards political opponents.
Qalaj also criticized Haxhiu for her initiative that led to the reduction of funds for the protection of former KLA members.
"Her behavior since she was in opposition has been very aggressive and with the most banal words towards her political opponents. You know her behavior towards the then Speaker of the Parliament, Mr. Kadri Veseli. Another major barrier is the issue of reducing funds for the defense of the accused in The Hague. She has been the initiator of these funds being reduced and this has greatly damaged the defense of Thaçi, Veseli, Krasniqi and Selimi", declared Qalaj, on the show "DPT te Fidani" on Klan Kosova.
