The lawyer for the former president of Kosovo, Pierre Richard Prosper, said that if Thaçi and others are found guilty, it is an unfair assessment of the entire history.

"I think if they are found guilty, I think it is a clear misunderstanding and unfair assessment not only of the truth, but of the whole story."

"I think that not only history but the historical data within NATO and the memories of officials along the chain of command as well as the historical data of all governments are completely contrary to such a conclusion," Prosper stated in an interview with Klan Kosova.

According to him, all the defense witnesses left confused, asking "why are we here?" and if you go back to the comments and impressions they gave years ago, this remains, "why are we here."

"This question applies to all witnesses. This makes no sense. 'Why are we here?' We don't know yet. Because the answer we arrive at is that we shouldn't be here. Even President Thaçi, the person I am authorized to speak on his behalf, shouldn't be here, because he is not responsible for those allegations and abuses that the prosecution is talking about. It couldn't be clearer," Thaçi's lawyer said.

He is of the opinion that after hearing the defense witnesses, Thaçi and others are of the opinion that the truth has now been revealed.

"The outcome, however, is not in their hands, nor in my hands, but in the hands of the judges. However, to sit there for Mr. Thaçi and the others, and the opportunity to listen to all these well-known and intelligent figures who tell how the events were and tell the court the truth, I think after that I simply leave it in the hands of fate because they know that history will prove the truth, whatever the outcome of this trial," emphasized Pierre Richard Prosper.
