Fitim Nela from Peja, American soldier, dies in accident in Belton

A tragic event has struck the Albanian community in the United States of America this Saturday, where as a result of a motorcycle accident, 25-year-old Fitim Nela, originally from Peja, Kosovo, lost his life.

The deceased was a distinguished soldier in the US Army, based in Texas.

He had served in elite units of American forces in Afghanistan, being praised for his professionalism and dedication.

The news of the fatal accident has also been confirmed by local authorities, while American media have referred to the Belton Police for details of the incident.

"Belton Police confirm that the victim of Saturday's fatal motorcycle accident has been identified as 25-year-old Fitim Nela, a resident of Killeen.

The accident happened around 10:55 a.m. on FM 439, near Lake Park Road.

According to witnesses, a group of motorcyclists were traveling together eastbound when Nela lost control of her motorcycle and collided with the front of a pickup truck. Buick SedanHe was pronounced dead at the scene.

FM 439, also known as Lake Road, was closed for several hours for investigations and reopened shortly before 16 p.m.,” the release said.

With great pain, his uncle, singer Kujtim Nela, also spoke about Fitimi's passing in an interview with "Radio 1":

The Nela family has opened the doors of the morgue both in the US and in Kosovo. The "Peja" Association in New York has announced that the funeral ceremony will take place in the United States, also making public the memorial details.

Meanwhile, Fitim Nela was the son of Enis Nela, one of the co-founders of the project to establish a munitions production factory in Peja - an investment that has been formalized by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
