Kurti fell prey to fraud by two Russian comedians, the Prime Minister's Office reacts

Famous Russian comedians, "Vovan & Lexus", have published a video in which they deceived the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, by posing as the president of Latvia.

The Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo has reacted to this incident.

Through a post on the X platform, Government spokesperson, Përparim Kryeziu, confirmed that Kurti was the victim of a hoax call.

According to the official announcement, the fraudulent call occurred on February 11, immediately after the February 9 elections, at a time when the Prime Minister was receiving many phone calls and messages congratulating him on the election results.

Due to time constraints, the Prime Minister's Office has reasoned that full verification of each call has not always been possible.

"This unfortunate situation confirms what has long been known: Russia continues to interfere in the internal affairs of Kosovo. During the election campaign for the parliamentary elections of February 9, Sputnik Serbia and Russia Today (RT) published over 60 fake news and disinformation articles, interfering in our democratic process, as documented by the EU Election Observation Mission," the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.

In the end, the Government of Kosovo expressed regret for this incident, but at the same time emphasized that this case confirms Prime Minister Kurti's unwavering stance on key issues, both in public and private conversations. /Telegrafi/
