Pope Francis' funeral ceremony, President Osmani meets important personalities at the Vatican

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, participated in the funeral ceremony of Pope Francis, which was held in the Vatican, representing the state of Kosovo at this important international event.

On this occasion, Osmani had the opportunity to meet with world leaders and well-known personalities, who had come to bid farewell to the head of the Catholic Church.

Through a post on the social network Facebook, President Osmani shared some moments from these meetings, accompanied by photographs.

She has met, among others, US President Donald Trump, European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Antonio Costa, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

Osmani also met with Italian Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who is often mentioned as one of the possible candidates to succeed Pope Francis.

In her post, Osmani expressed her deep gratitude and respect for the figure of Pope Francis, praising him as a spiritual leader who has left an indelible mark on modern history.

"Pope Francis will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to peace, human dignity, and solidarity among peoples," Osmani wrote, emphasizing his role as a powerful voice in defending the weak and in building bridges of international dialogue.

President Osmani further added that Pope Francis' legacy in commitment to the poor, in protecting human rights, and in building friendly relations between nations will live long and remain an inspiration for generations to come.

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti was also present at the funeral ceremony of Pope Francis.

The farewell for Pope Francis, who died on Monday at the age of 88, took place today in St. Peter's Square.

The Pope is buried in the Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome.

Santa Maria Maggiore, a basilica built in the fourth century, is located on one of the seven ancient hills of Rome, in the Esquilino neighborhood, which is now one of the most lived-in and multicultural areas of the city.

In a remarkable and unexpected decision for a pope, Francis has chosen this basilica as his burial place. After his death, his simple coffin will serve as a symbol of his commitment to a simple life uninfluenced by luxury.

The basilica, which is also the site of the tomb of renowned sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini, has seen a surge in visitors and pilgrims in recent years, especially after the pope's death.

With its magnificent mosaics and church designed by Michelangelo, Santa Maria Maggiore offers a place for meditation and prayer, transforming every visit into an unforgettable spiritual experience.Telegraph/
