The President of the country, Vjosa Osmani, on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kosovo, in a special ceremony awarded Presidential Decorations, while decorating the Jashari family, thus recognizing the shared sacrifice of every family member who stood and fought for the freedom of Kosovo.
Osmani emphasized that on the 17th anniversary of independence, they are bringing together the history, sacrifice, and pride of this nation in a solemn act - the decoration of those who made Kosovo free and many others who continue to help us move forward today, reports Telegrafi.
"On this holy day, in this solemn moment, we are not just commemorating a date – we are honoring a glorious era! 17 years of freedom, 17 years of statehood, 17 years of battle to show the world that Kosovo is eternal!"
Rightly, Commander Adem Jashari, Hamza, and many others have been honored with the Hero of Kosovo Order. And today, the title of hero will be awarded to Shaban Jashari, the head of the Jashari family. But, to this day, the Jashari family as such, as an emblem of freedom and a symbol of sublime sacrifice, has not been fully decorated for its heroism, sacrifice, and unparalleled endurance.
"Therefore, I have the honor that on behalf of the people of Kosovo, we will decorate the Jashari family as a whole, as an act that aims to fill this historical gap by recognizing the shared sacrifice of every family member who stood and fought for the freedom of Kosovo," she said, reports Telegrafi.
The head of state further said that this is an important moment to reaffirm that the state of Kosovo does not forget the most sublime sacrifice of our modern history, but honors it in a deserved and complete manner.
The President has also decorated Fehmi and Xhevë Lladrovci with the "Hero of Kosovo" order.
"With the same inspiration, based on previous decisions, today we present the Hero of Kosovo Orders to Fehmi and Xhevë Lladrovci, two comrades and spouses who fell as they lived - together, with weapons in their hands and with the ideal of freedom embedded in their souls," she said. /Telegrafi/
