The Office of the President of Kosovo has reacted to the statement of President Vjosa Osmani, who said that "in five years, over 900 criminal gangs have been dismantled in the country."

In response, the Presidency emphasized that Osmani referred to cases handled by law enforcement institutions, and not to the number of criminal gangs.

"In fact, it is intended for cases and not for the number of gangs. As you know, some northern Serbian gangs have been involved in hundreds of criminal cases," said Bekim Kupina, media spokesman for the presidency.

It was further stated that Osmani did not present Kosovo as a place of crime, but rather as a state of the rule of law.

"At no point has the President presented Kosovo as a place of crime, but as a place of law and order and as a place where European values of human rights and the rule of law are consistently respected," Kupina continued.
