Ukraine has received Mirage 2000 fighter jets from France, French Armed Forces Minister Sebastien Lecornu confirmed.
These planes mark the second type of Western fighter jets to enter the Ukrainian fleet, following the F-16s that were delivered last year. The first photos of French planes over Ukraine were also released today.

French Mirage 2000s have arrived in Ukraine with Ukrainian pilots after several months of intensive training in France.
"They will now participate in the defense of Ukrainian skies," Lecornu wrote on the X platform.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense published a photo of Mirage 2000 aircraft with Ukrainian markings, accompanied by the message "Only in Ukraine."

The first shipment includes three aircraft armed with air-to-air missiles, Scalp main missiles and Safran AASM Hammer guided bombs, La Tribune reported.
These aircraft are also equipped with 30 mm cannons and nine external weapon mounts. Lecornu had announced in October that the Mirage 2000-5, designed for air superiority, would be modified for air-to-ground combat and electronic warfare protection.
The Mirage 2000 first flew in 1978 and entered service with the French Air Force in 1984 as part of its air defense. Dassault Aviation produced 600 units of the aircraft, almost half of which were exported to eight countries, including Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, Greece and Taiwan.
The Mirage 2000 aircraft has a combat weight of 9.5 tons and can reach speeds in excess of Mach 2.2. It can remain in combat positions for up to 2 hours and 40 minutes at a distance of 241 nautical kilometers from its base. Dassault Aviation has announced that this aircraft will be retired by 2029, while the Mirage 2000 D version will be retired by 2035.
The operating costs for one hour of flight of the Mirage 2000 are around 17 thousand euros, according to a report by the French Senate, while for one hour of flight of the F-16 the costs are around 26,927 dollars. /Telegraph/
