Porto players' scandal: Police break up party, club launches investigation

Several Porto players were caught at a birthday party that got out of control and required police intervention at dawn, as the Portuguese club launched an investigation.

Record newspaper reports that Otavi's 23rd birthday party, held in the Boavista area of Porto, was attended by footballers Djalo, Martin Fernandes, William Gomes, Fabio Vieira and Joao Mario.

According to photos circulating on social media and reports, the last players to leave the event did so around 4 a.m., after police intervention.

Porto's players were under isolation and were scheduled to train that morning, so the club immediately launched an internal investigation.

The one who is excluded from this case is Martim Fernandes, who denied leaving Otavio's birthday party at 4am and claims there is evidence that he returned home around 1am on Monday.

The photos, which were taken by a member of the club and which have spread rapidly on social networks, have reached the leaders of the white and blue team, who will decide on further steps, given that the players have violated the curfew and the club's internal regulations. /Telegraph/
