Pollution on the Dhërmi coastline, the water is "colored" by waste

The Dhërmi coastline is currently facing visible pollution, turning brown as a result of soil and inert waste that have ended up in the sea. The phenomenon has been observed along the coast, where the water has lost its clarity and changed color due to the influx of materials from the surrounding area.
According to preliminary information, the pollution is suspected to have been caused by the movement of soil and inert materials, which through leaks have ended up on the coastline, affecting not only the appearance of the tourist area, but also the marine environment.
Residents and vacationers are expressing concern about the situation, while the intervention of relevant institutions is required to verify the source of the pollution and take measures to clean up the area.
Dhërmi, one of the most frequented tourist destinations in the south of the country, is thus facing an environmental problem that requires a rapid response to avoid further deterioration of the situation./Euronews Albania
