Albin Kurti was a political prisoner during the war in Kosovo and was released on December 7, 2001, after international pressure to release political prisoners of the Serbian regime.

He was arrested on 27 April 1999 in Pristina and was held in Pristina prison until 2 May 1999. From 2 May to 10 June in Lipjan prison. From 10 June to 13 December 1999 in Pozarevac prison. From 13 December to 13 March 2000, in Niš prison.


The trial against Kurti began on March 9, 2000, and on March 13, a 15-year sentence was imposed on the charge of "violating the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Yugoslavia" under Article 116.

Again, from March 14, 2000 to November, he was in Pozharevci prison. The interview given in prison is on April 22, 2000.

From November 2000 to December 3, 2001, he was in the prison of Cyprus, meanwhile, from December 3, 2001 to December 7, again in the prison of Nis.

In addition to prison in Serbia, Kurti has been arrested several times in Kosovo. /KP/
