"Political farce" - Murati says LVV is solving the Pristina budget that LDK itself blocked

Acting Minister of Finance, Hekuran Murati, after today's Government meeting, spoke at a press conference regarding the situation created in the Municipality of Pristina regarding the budget issue.
He said that the problem the municipality is facing is completely self-inflicted and has nothing to do with any blockade by the Kosovo Government.
According to him, the Municipality of Pristina had a budget allocated for the goods and services category, while the municipality's budget overrun created unfunded liabilities, thus violating the Law on Public Finance Management.
"It is clear that the municipality, namely the mayor of Pristina, has entered into obligations without having budgetary coverage. This is a direct violation of the law and must be held accountable for this. There was no blockage by the Government, the budget was allocated, but it was exceeded in violation of the rules," said Murati.
He welcomed the fact that today the Pristina Municipal Assembly will hold an extraordinary session to approve the allocation of own-source revenues, so that they can be used to pay outstanding bills.
Murati also wished that this session, as he said, "puts an end to the propagated farce that the municipality has been blocked by the government."
Murati added that what the LDK and Lumir Abdixhiku did not do in the Kosovo Assembly, Vetëvendosje is doing today in the Municipal Assembly.
"Here we were dealing with an LDK campaign. The same party, when it was time to vote on the budget in the Kosovo Assembly, did not do it. What Lumir Abdixhiku and the LDK did not do in the Assembly for the Pristina budget, LVV is doing today in the municipal assembly, offering a supporting vote despite the insults and insults," said Murati. /Telegrafi/
