Police find weapons and ammunition in an abandoned house in Leposavic

Kosovo Police have announced that during checks in the northern region, they found weapons and ammunition in an abandoned house in the village of Jashanicë, in the municipality of Leposaviq.
According to the official announcement, on March 5, 2026, the police received information that weapons may be located in this facility.
The relevant units immediately went to the scene and during the search they seized:
an M48 type carbine rifle
an AK-47 automatic weapon
a hunting rifle
a CZ pistol with two empty magazines
128 cartridges of different calibers
The State Prosecutor has been notified of the case, who has ordered the initiation of the criminal offense "Unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons".
There are currently no reports of arrests, while the case remains under investigation.
The police have thanked citizens for their cooperation and have called for any information that helps maintain public order and safety to be reported to the number 192./Telegrafi.
