Kosovo Police have announced that they have found weapons, ammunition and hand grenades in an abandoned house in Zvecan.

The Police announcement states that today, on 24.01.2026, at around 09:20, the Kosovo Police, after receiving information through operational channels, in the village of Joshevik, municipality of Zveçan, during a search of an abandoned house, found and seized weapons, ammunition, hand grenades, etc.


More precisely, they found:

  • 1 AK-47 automatic weapon
  • 1 double-barreled semi-automatic rifle
  • 10 empty magazines
  • 6 magazines filled with 30 rounds each
  • 84 pieces of automatic rifle cartridges
  • 14 pieces of ammunition for a semi-automatic rifle
  • 1 cartridge belt
  • 2 M50 hand grenades
  • As well as gun cleaning equipment

The State Prosecutor has been notified of the case, who has instructed the initiation of a case for the criminal offense of "Unauthorized ownership, control or possession of weapons".

Police emphasize that up to this stage of the investigation, no arrests have been made in connection with this case.

The Kosovo Police thanks citizens for their continued cooperation and assistance, and encourages them to report any suspicious cases or illegal actions to the emergency number 192 or to the nearest police station.
