Police continue with traffic controls, issuing 1570 fines over the weekend

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Macedonia announces that last weekend (26/27 May 2025), police officers from all departments of internal affairs, operating in the field of road traffic control throughout the country, issued a total of 1570 fines for traffic violations, most of which were based on the Law on Road Traffic Safety.

"216 fines were issued for illegal parking, 758 sanctions for speeding and 141 people were excluded from circulation because they did not have a driving license. Also, 62 violations were recorded for not wearing a seat belt, 31 sanctions were imposed on motorcycle drivers for driving without a protective helmet, 27 measures were imposed for using a mobile phone while driving and eight sanctions were imposed on drivers of vehicles who ran a red light, while 61 drivers of vehicles were excluded from circulation due to an illegal amount of alcohol in the blood."

"Based on the Law on Vehicles, during the indicated period, 39 vehicles were excluded from traffic, 11 of which due to technical defects, and 28 because they were unregistered. Traffic controls will continue in the coming days. We call on citizens to respect traffic rules in order to increase traffic safety and together contribute to safer roads," say the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Macedonia.
