The results of the 2025 PlayStation Blog Game of the Year Awards, which were decided entirely by gamers, have been published on the PlayStation Blog.

Almost 1.5 million users participated in the voting, and votes were distributed across a total of 19 categories, without the influence of editors or professional committees.

The biggest winner of these awards this year is Ghost of Yōtei, which won Platinum trophies in the categories: best PS5 game, best new character, best graphics, best art direction, best audio design, best accessibility options, and best use of the DualSense controller.

Video game studio Sucker Punch was particularly praised for its technical performance, world design, and experience on PlayStation 5.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was also a great success, winning Platinum awards for best story, best music, and best game, while taking top positions in several other categories.

The video game was particularly distinguished for its narrative depth and original audio-visual identity.

In the multiplayer category, Battlefield 6 was named the best multiplayer experience of the year, while Genshin Impact won in the best ongoing game category, beating out Fortnite and Honkai: Star Rail.

For Best Expansion, the Lies of P: Overture expansion was honored.

The Studio of the Year title was awarded to Kojima Productions, thanks to the success of the game Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and the global promotion of the project, while the best PS4 game of the year was Hollow Knight: Silksong.

In the most anticipated game of 2026 and beyond category, Marvel's Wolverine received the most votes, leaving behind Resident Evil Requiem and the new James Bond game, 007 First Light. /Telegraph/
