Petrovska: Taravar's departure shows the flaw in this government coalition

"The withdrawal of one of the parties from the government coalition actually shows the defect in the way this government functions and shows that it cannot fulfill its promises to citizens. In a little less than a year since its formation, we see that there has been essentially no dialogue, no respect for coalition partners, no fulfillment of promises," said SDSM MP Slavjanka Petrovska, after Arben Taravari's departure from the Government.

She added that Taravar's accusations of his dissatisfaction with the failure to fulfill promises to citizens confirm that this government, with its leadership and the institutions in which it operates, clearly does not have the capacity to fulfill its own promises.

"It doesn't surprise me that they don't even have the capacity of a governing coalition, even if they celebrated an anniversary," Petrovska said.

She added that what worries them as a party, but also the citizens, is that this government is reversing processes and there is no movement in the country's European integration process.

"The European integration process has not been left on the back burner, but it is much lower on the agenda of this government. Basically, apart from one or two well-formulated statements, we do not see any real movement on that plan. On the other hand, as we see, countries – especially Albania – are already rapidly trying to join the European Union and it is certain that they will catch that wave of enlargement in 2030. There were big promises before the elections, especially from the head of the government coalition, Mickoski, that they had a plan, but here, after a year, we have not seen anything from that plan. And most likely that 'plan' was for us to forget the election promises," Petrovska said.
