Pete Davidson reveals he's removing more than 200 tattoos from his body: Painful process expected to take a decade

Famous American comedian and actor Pete Davidson has revealed that he has begun a long and painful process to remove more than 200 tattoos from his body.

In a new interview with Variety, he revealed when he started this journey and how long it will take him to complete it.

"I started during the pandemic, in 2020. It takes me about 10 more years. My hands are almost ready, while I still have a little work to do on my neck and palms," he said.

Pete also explained that he still has tattoos on his back and torso to remove, describing the laser procedure as extremely painful: "It's like putting your hand on a hot grill and burning a layer of skin. Then you have to treat it and let it heal naturally. It's not easy, I'm not going to lie."

The actor appeared with a more "cleaned-up" look in a campaign for the brand Reformation, while on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" he admitted that he will only wear two or three tattoos because the removal process is "harder than the tattoos themselves."

"They burn a layer of skin, and then you have to wait six to eight weeks for it to heal. You don't have to be in the sun at all. And you have to do that 12 more times."

He advised the public to think twice before getting a tattoo, adding with humor: "Think twice about that Game of Thrones tattoo you're planning!"

As for why he had so many tattoos, he said honestly: "I was a sad guy... It was weird. I don't know. Five years ago everyone was getting tattoos."

Pete also revealed that he made the decision to remove his tattoos after he stopped drinking alcohol, adding: "I didn't recognize myself when I looked in the mirror anymore."

According to international media, Davidson has spent more than 190 thousand euros on this long and costly tattoo removal process.
